Roman Emperor Augustus ordered a census, so Mary and Joseph traveled to Bethlehem to register. There was no room in the inn, so they stayed in a stable, where Mary gave birth to Jesus, the Son of God. She wrapped Him in cloths and laid Him in a manger. Nearby, angels announced His birth to shepherds, who hurried to see the newborn Savior. The shepherds praised God, sharing the news of Jesus’ arrival. Wise men from the east followed the Nativity star and the King of Judea, King Herod, plotted to kill Jesus. The birth of Jesus fulfills God’s promise to send a Savior, showing His love for all people. The Nativity teaches us that Jesus came for everyone, no matter their status.
