The Battle of Jericho Bible Story Overview
The Israelites crossed the Jordan river only to be faced with the fortified city of Jericho. God gave Joshua an unusual plan: march around the city once a day for six days with priests carrying trumpets and the Ark of the Covenant, then on the seventh day, march seven times, blow the trumpets, and shout. The Israelites obeyed, trusting God’s promise. On the seventh day, as they shouted, Jericho’s walls miraculously collapsed, allowing the Israelites to take the city. This victory showed that faith in God’s plan, whether we understand it or not, brings triumph.
