Healing the Officials Son Radio Transcript
It’s time to Hear the Word! Our reading is adapted from John, Chapter 4 Verses 43-54, titled, Healing the Official’s Son, read by Violet, age 9. Now, let’s Hear the Word, together!
Jesus left for Galilee after two days. When He arrived, the people welcomed Him because they had seen everything He did while they were at the festival in Jerusalem. Then Jesus returned to Cana, the village where he turned the water to wine.
There was a royal official there who had a son at Capernaum who was very ill. When the royal official had heard Jesus returned to Galilee, he went to him.
The official pleaded with Jesus to come and heal his dying son. “Please, Jesus, please!”
Jesus told the official, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you won’t believe.”
“Sir,” the official said to Jesus, “please come with me before my son dies! He’s very ill!”
Jesus responded, “Go, your son will live.”
The royal official believed what Jesus said and left. While he was on his way home, his servants met him on the road.
They said, “Sir! Your son is alive and well!”
The official asked them, “What time did he get better?”
The servants replied, “His fever left him yesterday at one in the afternoon, sir.”
The official was amazed, because he knew that was the very hour Jesus told him, “Your son will live.”
The royal official and his entire household believed. This was the second sign Jesus performed after He arrived from Judea to Galilee.
“The father realized this was the very hour at which Jesus had told him, ‘Your son will live.’ So he himself believed, along with his whole household.”

Takeaway
This Bible reading was adapted from John, Chapter 4 verses 43-54. Just like the royal official, sometimes we think things have to be done a certain way. The royal official believed that Jesus’ presence could heal his son so he begged Jesus to come with him. Jesus showed the man His power was not limited to physical space. Jesus healed the official’s son with just a few words from miles away. Jesus showed the man, and all of us, that His power to heal and restore is without limits.
