It’s time to Hear the Word! Our reading is adapted from John, Chapter 3 Verses 1-21, titled, A Visit from Nicodemus, read by Ana, age 11. Now, let’s Hear the Word, together!
A religious leader of the Jewish people named Nicodemus came to see Jesus at night. Nicodemus said, “Rabbi, we know you are a teacher from God. No one could perform the signs you do unless God were with him.”
Jesus responded, “Unless a person is born again, they cannot see the Kingdom of God.”
Nicodemus was confused, “Uhh, how can someone be born again, especially when they’re old? Can they enter their mother’s womb a second time?
Jesus told Nicodemus, “Unless someone is born of water and the Spirit, they cannot enter the Kingdom of God. What is born of flesh is flesh, and what is born of Spirit is spirit. Do not be amazed when I say you must be born again. The wind blows where it pleases, you hear its sounds but don’t know where it’s from or where it goes. It’s the same with the Spirit.”
Nicodemus asked, “How can this be?”
Jesus said, “Nicodemus, are you a teacher of Israel but don’t know these things? We speak what we know and testify to what we’ve seen, but you don’t accept what I say. If you don’t believe what I say about earthly things, how will you believe if I tell you about heavenly things?
No one has ascended to heaven except the one who descended from heaven. The Son of Man must be lifted up so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life. For God loved the World in this way: That he gave his only begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”

Takeaway
This Bible reading was adapted from John, Chapter 3 Verses 1-21. “For God loved the world in this way: That he gave his only begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” That single verse tells us of the love God has for us, and the extent of that love.
