Daniel Story Overview
After the resurrection, the disciples were gathered in a locked room, overwhelmed by both wonder and fear—but Thomas was not among them. When the others joyfully told him they had seen the Lord, Thomas remained skeptical, famously declaring that he would not believe unless he could physically touch the wounds of the crucifixion. He wasn’t looking to be difficult; he was looking for a faith he could hold onto.
Eight days later, Jesus appeared again, specifically inviting Thomas to reach out and see the evidence for himself. In that moment of profound grace, Thomas’s doubt vanished, replaced by the powerful confession: “My Lord and my God!” This story reveals that God is not offended by our honest questions or our need for proof. Instead, He meets us in our uncertainty, teaching us that while seeing is believing, there is a special blessing for those who learn to walk by faith. Adapted from John 20.
